Paris, Rome, Florence Pompei / Sorrento / tour code 225145

 

Day 1:  Wednesday, May 28
Today you depart Tallahassee for Paris.

Day 2: Thursday,  May 29
Upon your arrival to CDG Paris you will be met by your tour leader and transferred by bus into  town where you will be met by your local tour guide for a guided panoramic tour. Following your panoramic city your, you will proceed to your hotel for check-in procedures.  The remainder of the afternoon is free for exploration with your tour leader.  Dinner this evening is included at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Friday, May 30
You will depart this morning by private bus for a visit to Giverny, the home and inspiration for Monet. Following Giverny you will continue on to the Palace of Versailles, the magnificent chateau and home to Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette.   Following your time at Versailles, you will take the local train to Paris to enjoy the remainder of your afternoon.

Day 4: Saturday, May 31
This morning you will travel by the Paris Metro to Trocadero and the area of the Eiffel Tower. You will then have an afternoon Seine River cruise.   Following the river cruise, you will visit the Musee D’Orsay followed by time to visit the Galleries Lafayette.  The late afternoon / early evening, will take you by public transport to the area of Montmartre, Place du Tertre, and Sacre Coeur.   Dinner is included tonight, and you will be given a 30 Euro meal allowance to be able to order whatever you wish.

Day 5: Sunday, June 1
Your day begins with a guided visit to The Louvre Museum.   Following your Louvre visit and a break for lunch.  Your final afternoon and evening in Paris is free for personal sightseeing to enjoy the City of Lights with your Group Leader.

Day 6: Monday, June 2
Your morning is free for personal shopping and sightseeing.  You will depart your hotel at 10:30 by private bus bound for the airport to connect with your flight to Florence, Italy.  On the way to the hotel, you will enjoy a picture stop at the famous Piazza De Michelangelo to enjoy an amazing view of the city.   Following hotel check-in, dinner tonight is included.

Day 7: Tuesday, June 3
Your day begins with a guided walking tour of Florence.  You will visit the Basilica de Santa Croce followed by a visit to the Accademia. This afternoon is free time to explore Florence with your Tour Leader.

Day 8: Wednesday, June 4
This morning you will be transferred to the Florence train Station where you will connect with your train to Rome.    Upon arrival to Rome, you will be transferred to your hotel.  Please note:  It is likely that your hotel rooms will not be ready for you.  As a result, you will be able to store your luggage at your hotel and enjoy time for lunch prior to your afternoon guided walking tour of the historic district.  Your guide today is Claudia and undoubtedly, you will like her very much.  Dinner tonight is included.

Day 9: Thursday, June
Your morning will take you to the area of the Colosseum and Forum for a guided walking tour.  This evening you will have an exciting, guided bike tour along the Apian Way.   Please be careful and watch out for those crazy drivers.

Day 10: Friday, June 6
Today begins with public transportation to the Rome train station where you will enjoy an approximate 1 hour 15 minute train ride to Naples.  You will be met by your bus and guide to be transferred to Pompei for a guided tour.  Following your tour of Pompei you will be transferred to the lovely town of Sorrento for shopping and dinner on your own before your return to Rome.    You will be departing from Sorrento to connect with your train back to Rome at approximately 830-845 pm.   Upon arrival to Rome, you will use public transportation to return to your hotel.

Day 11:  Saturday, June 7
Your final day in Rome will take you to Vatican City for a visit to St. Peters Basilica.  Your final afternoon in Rome is free for last-minute shopping and sightseeing.  Your final dinner tonight is included, and you will be given a cash dinner allowance to choose your own cuisine.   Suggestion:  Go to either Piazza Navona or the area of the Pantheon (also close to your hotel) to discover your own special place for dinner.

Day 12:  Sunday, June 8
You depart this morning from your hotel at 930 am as you say “arrivederci” to the magnificent city of Rome as you are transferred to the airport for your departure and return to the U.S.A.
