Swedenborg Trip to Stockholm and Falun Sweden 2025
Day 1: Wednesday, June 18
Today you will arrive in Sweden and assemble at Hotel Gamla Stan to meet your tour leader and discuss the activities for the upcoming week. After this you will begin a walking tour led by Goran Appelgren and Christopher Barber to include St, Jacob’s Kyrka. Dinner tonight will be held at Glyden Freden.
Day 2: Thursday, June 19
This morning you will begin your day by early morning transfer to the KVA to view the original transcripts by Emmanuel Swedenborg. Following the KVA you will get a look into the House of Nobility to see the Swedenborg’s family coat of arms. This evening you will end New Church Day by taking a scenic Stockholm Archipelago Dinner Cruise and then being transferred back to your hotel.
Day 3: Friday, June 20
Your day begins with a transfer to Skansen. You will begin your guided tour and get a look into the Lusthus, Swedenborg’s summer house. You will then spend the day enjoying Summer’s Eve and celebrating with all Skansen visitors. Your final stop of the day will be at The Vasa Museum, home of world’s only preserved 17th century ship. Finally you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 4: Saturday, June 21
You will depart this morning for a visit to the Royal Palace followed by transportation by personal charter bus for visit to Svindersvik in Nacka. Following your visit to Nacka you will be transferred back to your hotel by your private bus.
Day 5: Sunday, June 22
Today you will be transferred by private bus to have an early morning church service led by Goran Appelgren in English. This afternoon will be transferred back to your hotel to enjoy free time for your own personal exploration and to enjoy Stockholm on your last night.
Day 6: Monday, June 23
This morning you will depart Stockholm for the beautiful town of Falun, enroute you will stop in Uppsala for a guide tour to include the University of Uppsala, the Gustavianum Museum (Swedenborg’s classroom), and the Cathedral where Swedenborg’s tomb lays, Following this you will visit Linea’s gardens. Following your guided tour you will have a stop in Linea’s Manor in Hammarby to visit the gardens. Finally you will end your day by being dropped off at your hotel in Falun.
Day 7: Tuesday, June 24
Today you will visit the Falun Mine, where you will go far beneath the Earth’s surface and discover the Great Copper Mountain’s innermost important mining area. The mine dates back over 1,000 years and accounted for 70% of copper production for the western world. This afternoon is free for personal exploration.
Day 8: Wednesday, June 25
You will be transferred by private bus to visit Carl Larsson’s home and garden. This iconic home is filled with Swedish interior design and was built by Carl and Karin Larsson. Following the visit to Carl and Karin home you will enjoy an afternoon at the Dalarnas Museum. Finally you will be transferred back by private bus to your hotel to enjoy your final night.
Day 9 : Thursday, June 26
Today you will enjoy your last day in Falun with free time to explore and shop for some last-minute souvenirs before your private bus transfers you to the Arlanda airport this afternoon.
